I had so much fun today.  I brought some of my paintings to someone's house.  The woman really liked them and asked her daughter if she would like one for her bedroom.  She is 5 and adorable.  She put all of my small paintings on her bed, spread them all out and picked out her favorite for her wall.  We hung it up and she was so excited.  Made me feel really good!

"Mediterranean Magic" is painted from my imagination.  It took a lot longer than I expected.  I got carried away with the flowers.  They were lots of fun to paint.

Happy and Healthy New Year!  Had a very successful Holiday Season and sold 13 paintings.  Pretty exciting for me.  "Magical Positano" is my first painting this year.  I tried a different color palette and gave the painting a "European" flair.  Got lots of texture in the flowers with my palette knife.

I'm Mentioned in the South Florida Sun-Sentinel Newspaper

I haven't been blogging or on my Facebook Page very much in the last few months...been really busy. Just wanted to share some good fortune that I have had. Yesterday, May 19, 2012,  I was mentioned in the South Florida Sun-Sentinel Newspaper -  Money Section,  in an article titled "Artistic Trend Taking off at South Florida Airports by Arlene Satchell, about Art at the Airport Exhibitions at Palm Beach International Airport and Fort Lauderdale Airport.   It's a great article and tells about the great exposure we, the artists, receive during the Exhibition.  Part of the article reads:
"Next time you travel through a South Florida airport, stop and check out the artwork.  You just may find the perfect piece of art to adorn your living room wall."  It also goes on to say that the airport exhibitions provide local artists with high-traffice venues to showcase their works.   Very few artists were mentioned by name in the article, mine was one of the few.  I'm also mentioned in the "Richie Report" an online publication in a very favorable article.
My painting "Lunch In The Garden" is now on exhibition at the Palm Beach International Airport, Level 2, near Sam Snead's Restaurant and across from the Traveler's Lounge. The exhibition ends June 20th.  If you would like to purchase "Lunch In The Garden" please email me at:
paintingbyleslie@gmail.com    If you're at the airport, stop by.

Not All Airports Are Colorful – Go To PBIA And See This Art Exhibit

Are you one of those people who gets to the airport just in time for check-in and a fast paced run to your departure gate?  Or are the type of person who likes to get there a bit early (you never can predict how heavy traffic will be), get a cup of tea or coffee, and then proceed to your gate?  Maybe you are picking someone up at the airport and you are wondering what you will do if the plane is late and you are stuck waiting…   This is a rule of thumb for every traveler at any airport.  Look around!  There are often art exhibits in the terminal, either on the walls or even over head.  Just take a moment to look!  This ”art in public spaces” has been placed there for you to admire, think about and buy.

Anyone who meets Leslie Liss will have no trouble figuring out which painting is hers – she is exhuberant and her acrylic on canvas, “Lunch in The Garden” wakes you up with deep and rich colors.  This is the second time Leslie has been accepted into this show!  She hails from Boynton Beach and sells her work in different boutiques and galleries in the area.
